I am a PhD candidate and research assistant in the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. My advisors are Dr. Bilge Mutlu in the Human-Computer Interaction lab and Dr. Michael Gleicher in the Visual Computing lab. My research interests involve designing, building, and evaluating socially interactive technologies. In my dissertation research, I focus on the development of communicative characters, including both embodied virtual agents and social robots, that can use humanlike gaze mechanisms to effectively communicate with people in a variety of contexts, including education, therapy, and collaborative work.
