My main research interest is database performance and how the DB interacts with the processor and disks. Biography I (finally) completed my PhD, and I am now working for Oracle. I did my undergraduate work at The University of Texas at Austin, where I received a BS in Electrical Engineering. While here at Wisconsin, my main research area was databases and I was advised by David DeWitt. I have two brothers: Lane and Seth. Both are graduate students in ECE at UT and work part-time for IBM. Unfortunately, on 7/17/2004, we lost the sweetest puppy dog in the entire world Snoopy, the family beagle. May she rest in peace.
I would be negligent not to mention my own little girl, Ada* (see here for more information). She's about 7 years old. I got her from
the Dane County Humane Society
on September 6, 2002. She was about 5 months old and weighed about 3(!)
pounds. Don't worry, I've fixed that problem - she's now full grown, well
taken care of, and a
proper weight. :) |
