Research

I'm interested in Computer Networks and Networked Systems. Some of my projects (sorted new to old, with project details, papers, talks and software):

• eXpressive Internet Architecture: an instrinsically secure, trustworthy Internet with evolutionary support for multiple communication paradigms.
• Data Centers and Cloud Computing: characterizing data centers and clouds in the wild, and designing network and higher-layer frameworks for using them effectively.
• Content-based Network Protocols and Architectures: rethinking security, forwarding, transport and application protocols for an increasingly content-centric Internet.
• Redundancy Elimination: making a case for supporting IP-layer duplicate byte suppression as a network primitive.
• Measuring Network Design Complexity: developing benchmarks for network design (akin to those in architecture and databases), with a focus on manageability.
