User input

When we showed this version of the prototype to our users, there were mixed reactions. All of our users like the idea of the application, but thought some of the navigation was cumbersome. In particular, one user mentioned that the button to turn on/off the track should be on the main screen so it is easily accessible. Another user didn't like how difficult it was to get back to the home screen. One user didn't like how "basic" it looked, despite it being an un-polished prototype. Still, our users said they would use a program of this type.

Our thoughts

When we finished the design, we initially thought of tabbed browsing as an alternative, but we thought we would wait for user input before making any changes. As it turns out, tabbed browsing was the best way to go. We also thought that adding swipe-based navigation between days on the map/POIs. This could be a feature in an actual implementation, but this is hard to show explicitly in the prototype. But we still had some good ideas for improvement in revision 2!
