About me

Update: please see my personal site for the most current information.

In August 2010 I defended my PhD thesis, Incorporating Domain Knowledge in Latent Topic Models, within the Computer Sciences Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Previously, I had obtained an MS degree in Computer Sciences in 2007, and in 2005 I obtained a BS degree in Computer Engineering, both also at UW-Madison.

Research

I am interested in machine learning, particularly latent topic models and their applications. My PhD advisors were Mark Craven and Jerry Zhu. Please see my research page for more details.

In the 2009-2010 academic year, I was the organizer for the Artifical Intelligence (AIRG) and Learning Math for Machine Learning (LMML) reading groups. If you are interested in the topics covered by LMML, you may want to check out Jerry Zhu's new CS 731 course.
