This project seeks to build novel processes and software tools that enable manufacturing engineers to integrate collaborative manufacturing robots into currently manual processes in order to create fluent and efficient human-robot collaborations in industrial settings. In collaboration with MIT’s Interactive Robotics Group and Steelcase, Inc. we will analyze existing manufacturing processes, iteratively develop a novel process for integrating collaborative robots, such as Rethink Robotics’ Baxter, and integrate this process into software tools that will be tested with Steelcase engineers.
