Hello... test.. 1.2.3 Is this thing on?
Ok. I have some lyrics I wrote today.. little fragments. Is it cheating if it isn't February? Or is it only cheating if I use them in February?
Help me finish these if you can.
I have searched my whole life
for a flow to row against
but it turns out I had a river of my own
I march to the beat
of the drums only I can hear
but how they're not like yours is not so clear

On "cheating": I think writing out songs in a fetal state is OK for this month.
I mean, I have maybe a half-dozen lonely hooks or riffs or chord progressions that I've had for months (years?), and just haven't done anything with, and it bugs the smurf out of me. One of the reasons I wanted to do this project was to motivate myself into finally fleshing *them* out.
Now, taking a song that's already been written and demoing it just because we hadn't gotten around to it before... that's cheating. But experimenting with mere bits that are existant is OK by me.

Yeah, I concur...song bits you haven't fleshed out are fair game and a good time to finally finish em up!

Eric,
I'd have to hear these lyrics in a song to kind of understand where you are going for, what the flow of the song is...

Hi Matt,
These popped into my head with a melody in the shower, where all my inspiration seems to hit. The song is about the conformity of non-conformism. I will try to record the melody and progression I came up with and post it.
It is up-beat and popish, if for no other reason than I like the irony of talking about going against the flow in a vein that's called "popular".
I'll see what I can do with it and then if you guys see changes we can make, I'd appreciate it.
(I have an inherant low-regard for my own lyrics... thus I obsess on how much they suck)
