numero 2 - gilligan's wake WMA file here
hooray. number 2.
i am way behind.

what do you get when you try to record an ill-conceived pogues/gilligan's island song with only a guitar and a vague idea of how to work pro tools?

gilligan's wake

just sit right back and you'll hear a tale
a tale of a fateful trip
that started from this tropic port
aboard this tiny ship

everybody needs a little buddy
everybody needs a little buddy
everybody needs a little buddy
a first mate aboard this tiny ship

everybody needs a skipper to keep an even keel
everybody needs a skipper to hold on to the wheel
to give your back a slap and to hit you with his cap
everybody needs a skipper, everybody needs a map

CHORUS

everybody needs a millionaire to help you foot the bill
everybody needs a millionaire to put you in his will
some sugar to fall back on through the troubles in your life
everybody needs a millionaire... and his wife

CHORUS

everybody needs a country girl to know what the city's worth
everybody needs a country girl to bring them down to earth
when dawn wells up and storms come on and take you to extremes
everybody needs a country girl to show you what it means

CHORUS

everybody needs a movie star to glamourize the scene
everybody needs a movie star on your own silver screen
a little taste of ginger to whet the appetite
everybody needs a movie star to get you through the night

CHORUS

everybody needs a professor who knows what's going on
everybody needs a professor when your perfect world is gone
someone to fix the radio with coconuts and pearls
everybody needs a smart guy who won't go after the girls

CHORUS

your numbering scheme is driving me batty. ;) i like this one. if not for the courage of the fearless crew, the minnow would be lost, but not to you.

i think i'm gonna stick to proper ordering after i get #5 up here.
i have high hopes of having 11 songs up by sunday. i'm glad to have this one out of the way. i liked it more when it was a title and a vague idea.

i didn't listen to Uff-da, Wisconsin till after i recorded this, but it's a much better layered sing-along.

ha ha ha, this is awesome willis. you and burr do these types of songs well. I found myself chuckling through the whole thing...just picturing you like a kid on christmas going "WOW MOM! Protools rules! I can record 15 tracks of my own voice!" oh the possibilities.

hopper [08:28PM CST 20-Feb-2004]

the possibilities are daunting. if i had pro tools at home, i might not go out for a year...
