This one was inspired by the incessant coverage of politics, since it is "an election year".

I don't write in drop D all that often and it shows. It kinda took on a Pedro meets Starflyer 59 meets some other emo feel to me.

Both this song and the last song are song down in a more comfortable range for me. (sinus infection...*shrug*)

This one needs some work, but it's one more notch on the belt, so on we go.

I’ll take black
You’ll take white
Just because we can
Dig down
For the fight
That lives inside every man

We lie down here
Innocent youth
Struggled mighty
To find the truth
Sliced bread ideas
that lacked the proof
and so on we go

I’ve got black
You’ve got blue
And we’re still across the aisle
Too far to stop
We’ll see it through
At least for a while

My sacred cows
Are as big as theirs
We’ve both agreed
To split the hairs
My children here
better beware
The line from the other side

nice. hopper wrote his heavy song, and i am still hoping to put something on the table re the state of our union...

it could maybe a shred faster, but i like the slow, thrashy, gritty sound in contrast with your voice. you should write more songs like this, eric.

i'd actually be interested in hearing you play a real fast, punk-sort of sounding song, but still singing in your normal voice. that contrast would be interesting.

I love this tune...I love it. Slow and plodding. Dreary and disrarming.

Eric, you should check out the Czars...I think you would like them.
