Lecture 3 Announcements

• Wednesday, 2/8/2012: We will be using piazza for your questions about programming assignments. Please see the announcement on the program 1 website and also the information about piazza.


• Friday, 2/3/2012: Program 1: Your first programming assignment was assigned. It is due on Friday, February 24th, at 10 PM.


• Friday, 2/3/2012: We assigned the first set of CodeLab exercises. They are due Monday, February 13th, before midnight. See the announcement section of the CodeLab page. Note the bulk of the exercises are done in these early chapters, so get started now to take maximum advantage of CodeLab for extra credit. For more information see Extra Credit.


• Wednesday, 2/1/2012: I have changed my office hours based on your replies. They will be Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10:30 AM and Wednesdays from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. This week I will still hold my office hours on Thursday from 1 to 3 PM.


• Wednesday, 2/1/2012: Here is a link to the problem handout with control flow exercises which will be distributed in lecture tomorrow.


• Thursday, 1/26/2012: I posted the code we wrote in today's lecture and added some comments. The comments in there are for educational purposes. That is, one would not write comments like those (except maybe for the last one) when writing an actual program. Here is a link to Area.java.
