Wisconsin Idea Project

The Wisconsin Idea is project that pushes individuals to engage in topics they see as relivant and important today's society. Students involved in the Wisconsin idea project are looking not only to expand their knowledge, but also the knowledge of their community. The Wisconsin idea project is a great way for students spread a weatlh of knowledge they have gathered over their years of schooling and research.

Topic

The topic I chose involves accessing an online server through a secure shell. The reason I chose this topic was to give me and others more insite on computer servers. Mainly how they work, how they are accessed, and why they are used. I also felt like this is a difficult topic to just jump into especially if you have a limited knowledge of computers. Here I present a short tutorial of how to get some basic functions started. I don't show you any real high level functions or programming, just some initiall steps to take once you've connected to a server through a secure shell.

What's next?

My plans for the future(involving SSH) will be to just learn more about SSH and online servers. I still am a begginner in the field and only have a semester of programming under my belt. If I have time I will contiune to create and post videos. I always find visual demonstrations to very useful, especially in the computer science field.
