This set of instructions is for those students who want to know where to get a copy of the simulator for their own use. Note that the copy you get will not work for the last two programs (for, at least, Fall 2001).
Here are the standard instructions:
The directory it is in is pub/spimsal.
There are two UNIX versions of the simulator. They are both
located in the directory, and they are both
compressed files in tar format. One version
is called
spimsal.tar.Z
and the other is called
nonansi.spimsal.tar.Z
Get both files, then uncompress one file, then un-tar it. Read all directions to try to figure out whether you need the ansi or nonansi version. It depends which compiler you are using on which vendor's machine.
The PC version of the simulator is called spimsal.zip
