Professional information

I am a Ph.D. candidate of Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with minor in Mechanical Engineering, under the supervision of Eftychios Sifakis. I completed my B.Sc in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2011.
My current research is on designing efficient numerical solvers for discretized partial differential equations utilizing modern hardware, specifically SIMD-enabled hardware and heterogenous platforms.

Other Projects

Projects

SPGrid for Renderman®

We developed a Renderman® rendering plugin for the SPGrid to accompany our simulation pipeline, for both levelset and volumetric data.

Adaptive PhysGrid

During my internship at Disney Animation Studio, we developed an adaptive flesh simulation pipeline for animation.

GigaVoxel Topology Optimization

We developed a topology optimization framework that enabled gigavoxel optimization on a single workstation. In the center of the framework is an efficient Multigrid solver for linear elasticity utilizing AVX512 instructions and SPGrid.

On Improving Multigrid Convergence

I am investigating methods to improve geometric multigrid convergence for linear elasticity with heterogeneous material distribution using techniques introduced by algebraic multigrid.

Hobbies

Photography

Photography is the art form of capturing the memories, telling stories through snippet of moments. My work is promarily in wedding, engagenments, and portraits.
