SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS * Designed and implemented a complete network infrastructure for a Chicago-based high-end home hardware distributor (Ironmonger) that provided Internet access and a local server that hosted a complete business system. Ongoing maintenance. * Designed a complete wireless network with multiple nodes for a Chicago educational institute with a strong emphasis on cost effectiveness. * Designed and implemented a firewall and email server for the above education institute that provided access to email via web browser and secured IMAP with multiple domain support. * Designed and implemented business logic for an e-commerce website that entailed PHP web scripting and SQL database creation. * Designed and implemented Lotus Domino/Notes server for sales force team at Daubert Industries. Objective was to improve sales force communication using a contact management database along with email. * Implemented and customized a Lotus Domino contact management database for a national fire protection corporation. Significant modifications to the source code of the database were made to provide Palm Pilot integration, numerous product modifications, and several enhancements. * Designed and implemented a replacement Lotus Domino server and a new firewall for a synagogue including a complete internet access configuration for all desktops and migration of server data. Servers run RedHat Linux and FreeBSD. * Wrote a web interface that condensed proprietary status pages from 15-20 servers to provide a single availability monitoring location. Re-factored solution to provide overview of disk array subsystems for another cluster of ~20 servers. TECHNICAL SKILLS * Technical support and ongoing maintenance of PC desktop hardware and software including OS/2, Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP, Linux and desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and Lotus Notes. * Administration and implementation of Ethernet networks including wireless bridges, switches, and cable making and testing. * Experience with numerous programming languages including JavaScript, PHP, C, C++, and Java. * Administration and implementation of UNIX and UNIX-like operating systems including RedHat Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and the related networking services providing DHCP, HTTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, and NFS. * Experience with shell scripting on UNIX and UNIX-like servers to perform system administration tasks. * Administration and implementation of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems including NT, 2000, and 2003. * Administration and implementation of SQL software including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL. * Administration and implementation of web server software with a focus on Apache and bundled scripting languages. * Experience with implementation of internet connectivity including firewall technology, DNS, NAT, and HTTP caching software. * Experience with creating documentation and records of technology implementation and maintenance.
