zarf says, "Right. This is generally a competitive game, but it's just that
  everyone takes turns trying to roll good scores, so you can play it
  solitaire."
zarf says, "Roll all five dice."
zarf says, "Each 5 and 10 that appears is worth 5 or 10 points."
Jota says, "Woah. Big lightning-started fire in Atlanta."
zarf says, "If you roll three of a kind, that's worth ten times the number
  showing (so 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, or 100 points.)"

zarf says, "A wildcard symbol must be used to form a three-of-a-kind if
  possible, otherwise you can declare it anything."
zarf says, "Hrm, wait, I think I misspoke. The wildcard die has 10, 5, 2,
  3, 6, wild."
inky asks, "so the four is replaced?"
Jota asks, "So the four is the wild?"
zarf says, "yes"
andyf crawls out of the primeval ooze.
Jota greets SF.
andyf says, "Heya all."
Jota asks, "Are random 2s, 3s, 4s, 6s worth anything at all, if not part of
  a three-of-a-kind?"
zarf says, "Now, the tricky bit is, points don't count unlless you complete
  your turn successfully. And if you (at any point) roll a set of dice and
  gain no points from it, your turn aborts, and all the points you got that
  turn are lost."
zarf says (to jota), "No."
zarf says, "There are a lot of rules here, so just hold on. :)"
Jota is guessing that scoring no points is considered 'wimping out'?
inky says, "I think quitting is considered wimping out"
zarf says, "If you roll a trio, you must 'clear' it. This means re-rolling
  the non-scoring dice that you just rolled. So the three dice that formed
  the trio are left, and any 5s and 10s stay down, but the rest are
  re-rolled."
zarf says, "When you are clearing, if any die shows the number of the
  trio"
zarf says, "...you try again. (Re-roll the dice you just rolled to
  clear.)"
zarf says, "If that doesn't happen, but you don't get any 5s or 10s, you
  wimp out and your turn aborts -- see above."
zarf says, "If you actually get some points, meaning 5s or 10s, the trio is
  clear. You get the points, plus all the points you just rolled."
Jota asks, "So rolling something like 33356 is actually worse than 33346?"
zarf says, "You can stop at any time, *unless* all dice on the table
  actually scored from you. In that case, you must roll them all again. You
  may not want to, but you must."
zarf says, "In general, when you decide to continue your turn, you re-roll
  only the non-scoring dice you have."
zarf says, "I will perform an example."
zarf says, "But not using the dice here, because I want it to be an
  interesting example. :)"
zarf says, "I roll 33346."
Jota feigns offense at the slight against his dice.
zarf says, "That's 30 points, but I have to clear it, so I re-roll the 4
  and the 6."
zarf says, "I get 36. Match. Re-roll those two."
zarf says, "I get 3 5. Match. Re-roll."
zarf says, "I get 6 5. That clears it, I now have 35 points."
zarf says, "I can choose to re-roll the 6, or stop."
zarf says, "I continue."
zarf says, "If I roll a 2, 3, 4, or 6, that's a wimpout and I lose
  everything. If I roll a 5 or 10, that's points, but then I've got five
  scoring dice and must re-roll them all."
Jota asks, "Let's say you rolled 55534, and then cleared with 31... If you
  rerolled the 3 and got a 5, would it jsut be worth five, or would the fact
  that it matched the 555 mean something?"
zarf says, "Other miscellanous rules: five of a kind is 100 times the
  value, but five 5s is so many points that you win instantly, and five 10s
  is so many fucking points that you just lose."
inky laughs.

zarf says, "Also, if you rol 55553, that's a trio plus 5, not a foursome."
inky asks, "do foursomes exist?"
Jota asks (to Zarf), "And if you reroll the 3 and get 5, is that a five of
  a kind or a three of a kind with two 5s?"
zarf says, "Also, on your *first* turn, you have to get at least 35 or it
  doesn't count. This is mostly interesting in competition. If you're playing
  solitaire, that should probably be be *every* turn."
zarf says (to jota), "The latter. Trios and fives of a kind only count if
  the dice are all rolled in the same roll."
Jota asks, "Also, how long does the game continue?"
zarf says, "Similarly, if you roll 22445, and then reroll the 2244 into
  2255, that's just fifteen points."
zarf says, "You usually play to 500. In competition, once someone hits 500,
  everyone else gets one more turn to break it -- going for broke."
Jota asks, "Sounds good to me. Who's in?"
<Psmith> Psmith is.
Psmith clambers through a window that wasn't there a moment ago, and drops
  lightly to the floor. The window isn't there again.
zarf says, "I suppose I'd better me. :)"
Jota greets Ps.
Psmith waves to the hordes.
inky says, "unfortunately, I got meeting."
Jota waves to inky.
zarf asks, "Hee. Who else besides Jota, me, and psmith?"
inky has disconnected.
inky is an Arctic penguin surrounded by a cold group of rival penguins.
