You have reached the Ankur Archive Project, which aims to create an archive of public domain Bengali literature accessible through the internet. The concept is similar to that of Project Gutenberg. In fact, much of the content here will eventually find its way into the Gutenberg collection.

The contents of the archive are available from the Archive Page. For those having difficulty setting things up, a romanized version is also available, to give you a glimpse of you what you are missing :-)

Requirements

To view documents in the Archive, you need a Unicode opentype font that covers Bengali and a Web browser capable of rendering opentype. A discussion of the levels of support currently available in various operating systems and browsers can be found here.

The documents linked from the Archive Page are in HTML, which requires a web browser for proper viewing. See the usage instructions page for other options.
