Assembly instructions for M113 APC Measurements are based on the 1/72 ESCI kit, and the original diagram is to 1/144 scale. To check dimensions, top hull 5 should be exactly 1 inch long. All parts should fit in a credit card sized styrene sheet. 1) Transfer diagrams to styrene sheet and cut out parts. Crosshatching indicates part positions, and other lines indicate scribed details. 2) Glue top hull 5 between upper hull sides 3 and 4. 3) Glue upper front hull front 2 between 5, 3 and 4. Slope should be about 45 degrees. This is the upper assembly. 4) Cut away and set aside fenders of rear hull 6, then glue 6 between lower hull sides 7 and 8. 5) Bevel top edge of lower front hull 1 about 45 degrees, then glue bottom hull 9 between 1, 6, 7 and 8. This is the lower assembly. 6) Glue front door 10 on 5 and glue rear door 15 on 6. 7) You can use a 3/16" paper puncher for center hatch 13, and a 5/32" paper puncher for side hatch 11 and center hatch 12. Glue 12 to center of 13, then glue this and 11 to 5. 8) Use 5/32" puncher for wheels 16, or cut 1/32" thick slices off a 2/16" diameter styrene tube. Use lower mounting diagram for wheel placements on 7 and 8. 9) Glue upper tracks 18 and 22 to wheels, with ends over wheel centers. 10) Glue lower tracks 20 and 24 to wheels and bend up tracks where scribing ends so tips are under wheel centers. 11) Curl tracks 17, 19, 22 and 23 to fit around wheel ends, then glue. 12) Paint tracks and wheel assemblies, then glue upper assembly (step 3) to lower assembly (step 5). Trim and glue rear fenders to 6, aligning with 4 and 5. 13) Paint entire hull, and add decals. 14) Enjoy, then wait for new project (maybe 38t Hetzer?).
