As a sort of tribute to the so-called third political parties, I've
compiled a list of many of the political parties that have run a candidate
for president. I doubt this list is anywhere near complete as I
wasn't able to find much detailed data about elections before the
1930's. The years listed are not necessarily complete either but should
give a good representation. If it says etc, that means that after the
last year listed, the party has had a candidate in pretty much every
election since. I realize that when there is a large span of years
between a party having a candidate (for instance the American Party
or the newly renamed US Taxpayers Party, the Constitution Party) that
they may represent totally different views at different times. Oh well.
