I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Master's degree in Computer Sciences. The general area of my interests is artificial intelligence. I am particularly interested in statistical models and probabilistic approaches in machine learning such as hidden Markov models and Bayesian networks. I have employed these methods in the following areas: robotics, machine vision, and bioinformatics. My research at UW-Madison was in bioinformatics with Colin Dewey. Specifically, I studied sequence alignment through hidden Markov models. I joined the Content Recommendation Science group at Yahoo! Labs in 2010.
