Research Interests: Database systems

I am no longer a student at the UW. This page is out of date. Way, way, out of date.

I am currently a TA for CS 564, taught by Raghu Ramakrishnan.

Important information:

  Email: fredrick
  Office: 3397 CS
  Phone: 890-0042
  Office hours: MW 14:15-16:30
                F 12:30-13:15

My office (3397) is located on (surprise!) the third floor at the end of the hall farthest from the elevators.

Notes on my office hours:

  1. After the P4 due date, office hours are only by appointment (but feel free to drop in unannounced; just don't be too surprised if I'm not there).
  2. I'm pretty good about answering email during the day. If you have a question, feel free to email me about it; it may save you a trip to my office. I try to answer email a couple times during the evening, but am not otherwise immediately available by email.
  3. If you can't make it to the posted hours, email me and we'll set up a time that works.
  4. Sometimes during office hours I am forced to leave my office, but I always try to hurry right back. I'll hang something on my door handle indicating this.

If you'd like to make your CS home page look something like this, see the CSL's instructions.

If you want some tips and tricks I've given out to my 564 students (and others who were unlucky enough to work with me here on the CSL machines), see this collection of my dotfiles.
