Prague

I spent one weekend in Prague with two guys from the office, Don and Russ. We saw a lot of the city and took no public transportation except to go to and from our trains on Friday night and Sunday evening. We walked everywhere. Here are the pictures I took of this beautiful city during our trip.
Captions are given below each photo and you can click on a thumbnail to get a larger view of each picture.
St Wenceslas Church. Me standing outside of St Wenceslas Church. The inside of St Wenceslas Church. Looking off Legion Bridge, one of the many bridges that span Vltava river. Vltava river.
A statue called Vltava that sits along the river of the same name. More of Prague from Legions Bridge. Again more of Prague from Legions Bridge. And again, this time closer. An interesting building near a main shopping area.
The National Museum. Russ and me standing along a typical street in Prague (look on the left of the picture). The skeleton that hung over the table where we ate lunch on Saturday. A Monument to Franz I. More of the monument.
One more of the monument. Details of the monument. Prague Castle. Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and Vltava River. Once again, the castle, bridge, and river.
The old town water tower. The old town bridge tower. Karel IV (and some random guy that happened to be posing for a picture when I snapped mine). Lesser town bridge towers. The top of St Nicholas church from the back.
Kaiserstern Palace. Some doorway in Prague that looked neat :) I liked the texturing on these buildings. It seemed very Czech. Prague from up high. Prague and Don from up high.
The red roofs and hills of Prague. More of Prague from up high. The entrance to Prague Castle. More of the entrance to the castle. The inside of St Vitus' Catherdral, inside the castle.
The Cathedral Organ. More of the Cathedral. The pulpit. More of the inside of the cathedral. Part of the outside of the cathedral. Notice the gargoyles.
Some gargoyles from the side. A sharper picture of those gargoyles. The top of the cathedral. An entrance to a wing of the castle. Some of the outside of the cathedral.
The cathedral's clock tower. More of the cathedral's outside. And another picture of the cathedral. The entrance to Prague Castle again. The Trinity Column in front of St Nicholas Church.
Looking up at the castle gardens. Don and Russ walking along somewhere in Prague. Looking towards the old town bridge tower from Manes Bridge. Some big, important looking building along the river (it isn't labeled on my map) Church of Our Lady Before Tyn.
Jan Hus. The Old Town Hall. A building with horses on it. The Dancing Building. I watched a TV program on this building once. Supposedly it is known as the Dancing Building because after it was built, some people said that it looked like Fred and Ginger dancing. More of the Dancing Building.
Prague Castle at sunset. A tram running along Palacky Bridge. The river. The stuffed goose that hung above the table where we had drinks on Saturday night. The river on Sunday morning from Palacky Bridge, looking south.
The river on Sunday morning from Palacky Bridge, looking north. Jirasck Bridge from Palacky Bridge. Standing on Palacky bridge looking down the street that led to the Hostel we stayed at. Jirasck Bridge with Prague Castle in the background. Panoramic View from Palacky Bridge #1
Panoramic View from Palacky Bridge #2 Panoramic View from Palacky Bridge #3 Panoramic View from Palacky Bridge #4 Panoramic View from Palacky Bridge #5 Panoramic View from Palacky Bridge #6
Panoramic View from Palacky Bridge #7 F. Palacky. Details of the F. Palacky Statue. This is a really weird creature (who appears to be crushing a human) to have on a statue that is a tribute to a person. I wonder who Palacky was. St Ignatius Church. The New Town Hall.
Part of the New Town Hall (?) Rudolfinum. Russ and me standing beside Manes Bridge with Prague Castle in the background. Me sitting at the riverside cafe where we had lunch on Sunday. Russ sitting at the cafe.
Quicktime Movie Directory More Pictures
Russ and me at the cafe. Two small, low-quality quicktime movies. The first is of the town square near the old town hall. The second is of the outside of St Vitus' Cathedral in Prague Castle. If you want to see more pictures of Prague, here are the pictures that Russ took while we were there.
