HK has been the absolute best TA I have ever had here at Penn. He is understandable. He has full knowledge of the material. He cares about his students and how they do. He is willing to put the time and resources into his class to make sure they understand. I hope to see him become a professor!
HK was an amazing TA. He was extremely accessible--he had additional weekly review sessions for those who wanted them and told us we could meet with him pretty much whenever we wanted to. It was also apparent that HK cared about his students and wanted them to do well in STAT111. He put a lot of effort into the class so that his students could do well. HK was one of the best, if not the best, TA I have had at Penn.
Hyunseung is an AMAZING TA who is so willing to meet with students and devotes all his time to help students. He is so great at clarifying the material and provides countless resources in order to ensure the success of the students. He is definitely one of the best TAs there is at Penn.
HK was easily the best TA I've had so far as a second semester sophomore.
Hyunseung is an amazing TA and effectively communicated the course material that I found confusing.
In taking Statistics, I am extremely grateful to have had Hyunseung as my TA. He was really invested in helping his students do well, had extremely well planned out recitations, was available at almost any hour with email help and walk in office hours. I don't think I have ever seen anyone so dedicated to his students. If there is a challenge for the absolute best TA, I genuinely think he could far surpass anyone out there. I do not consider myself good at mathematics or statistics, but with his help I really think I succeeded in this class.
I am not the least bit surprised Hyunseung has won awards for his TA'ing abilities. Words alone cannot express what an amazing job he did.

hyunseung kang is the best TA i have had.
Hyunseung Kang was the best TA I've ever had in college, and I doubt that anyone else is as genuinely caring of his students (as a TA), than him. He worked really hard to help us study and understand material.
My TA was incredible throughout the duration of the semester. He could not have been more helpful during recitation and he made the class interesting and engaging. In addition to recitation, he could not have made himself more available to meet in the stat department. He was always willing to answer questions and provide more examples and he even set up weekly review sessions to help all of the students. I do not think I would have been well equipped to handle the demands of the class without my TA. He made the material clear so that I could understand it and he never grew frustrated when I asked questions. I can easily say he was the best TA I have had at Penn so far!
Hyunseung Kang was INCREDIBLE. HK is the most helpful person I've ever met and he is genuinely interested in the success of his students. He works so hard to help them do well. He deserves so much recognition and praise for this course. His frequent office hours, his fast email responses, his review sessions, asking the students what will help them improve, spending time thinking of ways to effectively communicate material, being incredibly organized in his teaching style, giving us each and every tool possible to do well; he is one of the most incredible teachers I've ever had.
HK is definitely one of the best TA's that I've had here at the University. He is always available and willing to help out outside of the classroom time for subjects that students don't understand to well. He tries to keep the students engaged and make the subject of statistics more interesting.
This was one of the best TAs I have ever experienced. His dedication to our success was unparalleled and because of him I have learned as much as I have up to this point. He was phenomenal!
Hyungseung Kang is the best TA I have ever had. Hyungseung makes it his personal mission to ensure the success of his students, with comprehensive lectures once a week and extra review sessions throughout the year, one-on-one meetings for tutoring, helpful review sheets, study guides, problem sets, and a generally positive and kind disposition. With Hyungseung as a TA, one feels it is almost impossible to fail. His traits of unwavering support, helpful attitude, and skill in explaining course material are extremely rarely all present in an instructor. He has confidence, grace, and mastery in the classroom and is always fully prepared for a lecture. I wish every TA was as qualified and supportive as Hyungseung.
HK is the absolute best TA I have ever had and probably ever will have. He went above and beyond in every way possible. His dedication and commitment to his students is obvious. He held countless hours worth of review sessions outside of our normal recitation. The week before tests, he was available from 10 AM to 11 PM consistently for office hours. He always replied to my emails within a few hours. He helped with every project and with every question I had, and I didn't feel like I was burdening him when I asked. I learned so much from HK. Even though I was not very excited about statistics when I started the course, he made me care about it more than I ever would have expected, and he made me feel like I could do well if I put in the work. Students from other TA's recitations even started coming to our section because they heard how awesome he is. HK is the best!!!
Kang is a great instructor. He is extremely helpful and if not for him, I wouldn't be able to understand a majority of the information presented.
Hyunseung is honestly amazing. His dedication to ensuring that his students really comprehend the material is incredible, and goes beyond a level of simply being a TA. Through this course, he has acted as a mentor and a big brother as well as a friend. He is accessible at basically any time through email, or just sitting in his office, and his study sessions as well as project tips are what guided me through many seemingly complicated statistical procedures. Because of my personal experience with this class, I have decided to minor in Stats. Hyunseung, thank you for everything that you have done and continue to do. You would be a great professor.
