These are a few from my album. I didn't plan to take some
of them and was just at
the right place at the right time so I didn't have the
appropriate film so the rez is a bit
scarce on those. They are on the large side but I think
its worth it. PLEASE don't
distribute them with out my permission.
Both of these are of comet Hayukatake from back in 1996. They were taken on lakeshore path here @ UW-Madison.
These next four were taken at Lake Kabetogama in Ray, Minnesota in the Summer of 1998 around the end of June.
I think the contrast with the background is what really sells this
one.
A sharp eye will see Cassiopeia in the upper left. An even shaper one
will see bits of Andromida & Pegasus in the center. This is looking
over the lake. The campfires are on the beach.
Thought I had the Big Dipper in this one but I cut off the end.
This is by far my favorite. I almost didn't get this shot because it
was mesmerizing just to look at it. It was like the sky was rushing towards
you but vanishing just before you got hit. A good friend and advisor of
mine felt inspired and wrote this
poem which you can read _hear_.
