Description

Guacamelee!: Super Turbo Championship Edition is the third version of the game, following the PlayStation exclusive Guacamelee! and the PC exclusive Guacamelee!: Gold Edition. Compared to the original game, it integrates the previously released DLC seamlessly. The additional DLC costumes can be purchased in-game with a new silver currency provided after clearing rooms. It also contains two new stages exclusive for this version: Canal de las Flores with a besieged town and the volcanic Pico de Gallo, integrated into the main game and also tied to the story. There is also a new boss called El Trio de la Muerte. There is a new town with sidequests and more background information about the female Tostada character is provided. Next to being the second character in cooperative multiplayer, she is now also available in the single-player. There are also hidden orbs to be found.

Juan Aguacate has access to two new abilities. By completing challenges in El Infierno he eventually gets access to Pollo Bombs where he turns into a chicken and can lay eggs that destroy the purple blocks in the game. The second one is Shadow Swap, which adds a second dimension to the game for certain areas and enemies that are hidden. In the new Pico de Gallo area for instance, the ability to quickly shift realms is used extensively to freeze plumes of magma in the right position to use them as platforms. Another addition is Intenso, a new mechanic that adds a third bar that increases gradually over time. When full, it can be activated to change into a glowing shape and do more damage. It can be upgraded in three different ways with gold. There are new enemies in original levels with skeletons who teleport and health bars are now shown above enemies' heads. The game supports up to three save slots now instead of just one, and it has online leaderboards for speed runs.

On the Wii U the GamePad is used to track progress on the world map.
