Description

Pop 'Em Drop 'Em Samegame is a variant of SameGame, a puzzle game concept that was introduced with the game Chain Shot in 1985.

The player is presented with a board full of blocks and the goal is to remove them all. To remove blocks the player simply clicks on a group of two or more blocks of the same colour. As blocks are removed those above will fall down and fill in the empty space. When columns are emptied the blocks will fill in from the right. The game goes on until there are no more blocks that can be removed. When all blocks on the board have been removed the player will move on to a new board. The player scores for each block removed and larger groups of blocks give the most points. Different options exist that alter the game's difficulty. This include the size of the board (from 9x9 to 22x12) and number of colours (3-5). It is also possible to use bombs that can blow up unwanted blocks.

The game features multiplayer for up to four players locally. There are three different multiplayer modes: fame game, shame game and blame game. Fame game is most similar to the single player and the player with the highest score wins. Shame game turns it all around; here the player with the lowest score wins. In these modes a player can colourblock the other players by clearing large numbers of blocks. In the blame game all players play on the same board.
