Description

Starved for Help is the second episode of the first season of The Walking Dead adventure series. It is offered as an expansion and requires the first episode A New Day to play. For the iOS and Android versions this is done as an in-app purchase. For Xbox 360 and PS3 it is bought as DLC. It is not available separately for the PC versions.

Just like the first episode it consists of eight chapters and it picks up three months after the events of the first one, also taking into account choices that have been made in that earlier episode. This includes statements and decisions Lee has made that characters still remember, as well as major choices such as having taking along either Doug or Carley, which alters whether they are present or not in this second episode.

It starts at the Motor Inn motel the survivors have fled to after the drugs store was overrun. Glenn has left for Atlanta and the remaining survivors decide to stay at the motel because it can be easily defended and has plenty of light. A new character called Mark has joined the group because he carried food. When Lee and Mark return to the motel after a hunt, the central theme of the episode is played out. Lilly has grown into the leader of the group and takes care of the food rations. Supplies are dwindling and fed up she puts Lee in charge to decide who gets a piece of what is left. Through a group of boys and their teacher the survivors learn there are bandits in the surroundings raiding camps. A large part of episode is played on a nearby dairy farm where a mother and two brothers offer to trade food for gas. As the farm is surrounded with a large electrical fence, the groups considers helping out on the farm to stay at a safer location. Returning is the struggle between Lilly and Kenny because of their different interests, Larry who still does not trust Lee, and taking care of the little girl Clementine to make sure she remains safe. This episode also reveals clues as to how the infection spreads.
