I'm a second-year grad student interested in database systems and high performance computing. My focus has been on workload modeling and resource utilization problems. For example, I recently worked on data-aware optimization of MapReduce programs. Last summer, I improved a stream processing system: automatically adjusting queue sizes and thread counts to maximize throughput. My first year, I investigated new programming models to support data-intensive supercomputing.
