Pardon the name, but nothing else horse-related popped into my head. Also pardon the awkward fluff text, but I was trying to write it from the clan perspective, which is uncharted territory for me. Overview: The Mustang Heavy Hover Tank was introduced into the Clan Hell's Horses touman in 2998. Since then, it has proved on more than one occasion to be the determining factor behind Clan Hell's Horses' victory in a clan trial. The Mustang is designed from the ground up to equal an omnimech in technological proficiency. Its omni-capability is not nearly as flexible as that of an omnimech; the alternate configurations were designed along with the vehicle, and are the only ones available. Nonetheless, they do prepare the Mustang for a variety of roles. Capabilities: The Mustang Heavy Hover Tank is designed to outmaneuver any omnimech that it does not outgun. With its incredible speed and respectable armor, this is easily an achievable proposition; with its impressive weaponry, their are not many omnimechs that outgun it. The Mustang's most common configuration mounts a Lg. Pulse laser for super-accurate long ranged firepower and a massive LB-20X autocannon, capable of removing more than a ton of ferro-fibrous armor with each hit. Alternate configuration A is designed for a more long-range approach; it keeps the Lg. Pulse laser, but trades the autocannon for two LRM-20 missile launchers. Alternate configuration B uses an LRM-20 to announce its presence and three SSRM-6s and two ER Med. Lasers to announce its victory. Alternate configuration C is designed for making a few high-speed passes; its ammunition supply is not adequate for a long battle, but neither are the armor ratings of its opponents, when put up against the massive array of short-range missiles and pulse lasers.
