Shootist

This is a design that I came up with after thinking about how few good
70-ton IS L2 mechs there are. It's based roughly on the Shootist, and
combines elements of the Penetrator and Falconer. It's designed for
my typical fighting style - close to point-blank range and shoot until
they're dead.

Type: Shootist mod
Tech base: IS Level 2
Tonnage: 70
Engine: 280 standard 16
  Walk: 4
  Run: 6
  Jump: 4
IS: Endo Steel 3.5 (8LA,2LL,4LT)
Cockpit: 3
Gyro: 3
JJ: 4 m.p.s 4 (2LT,2RT)
HS: 10(20) 0

  (allocate as desired)
Weapons:
Gauss Rifle RA
Gauss Ammo 16 RA
CASE RT
ER Lg. Laser LT

MPL H

My Comments
-----------
As you can see, I swapped the Shootist's AC20 for a Gauss Rifle and
moved it to the RA. (The original variant had an LB-20X, but that
took up too many crits.) I put the ERLL in the LT (don't remember if
that's where it was before) and put MPLs in the center of the mech. I
also added JJ, which I consider mandatory for slow mechs.

If you wanted, you could drop the LA hand and lower arm actuators and
convert the Gauss to an LB-20X. You'll have to rearrange some ff
crits, and you'll have less range, but that'd be a supreme in-close
fighter, in the tradition of the Shootist.

It is perfectly valid to swap out the Gauss for an LB-10X; if you do
that and upgrade the ERLL to an ERPPC, and add a dhs or two, or
another MPL, you may have a superior design to mine.

I seriously considered dropping an MPL and changing the ERLL for
either an ER PPC or, more likely, a standard PPC. But that leaves me
with too few point-blank weapons for my liking. The lack of a minimum
range for the ERLL is a big point in its favor.

The CASE is kind of extra, but I had a half-ton and felt that a Sm.
Laser would be superfluous, and in that rare scenario where I have a
heavily-damaged RT and the Gauss explodes, it'll be handy.

For a more "custom" game, it might be worth it to drop the ERLL for 2
more MPLs and a C3 slave.
