Summer Programs Website!!!

On the pages linked to the left you will find all the technology related information that is needed for completion of activities during your time in our summer programs.  These pages should be visited often as our content may change every week depending on the upcoming activities.

Feel free to look through the content as you see fit. Also, keep note that everything we cover in our sessions will always be listed on this website.

**As an additional notice: Failure to complete tasks as required may result in severe disciplinary action. If necessary, a hold will be placed on your final paycheck as a result of failure to meet ALL program requirements at the end of your program.

7/22 Entire Web Site Due
7/2 Rough Draft of Introduction Due
6/29 Basic Web Pages due
6/24 Research Outlines Due
RAP Students

8/2 COMPLETED WEBSITES DUE (*no exceptions!!!)

Wednesday, July, 27: Begin Results section of paper. Perform calculations, construct graphs and tables.

Thursday, July 28: Revise Methods section and continue Results section of paper.
Carry out final Rapcitity surveillance at Carson Gully.

Friday, July 29: Attend NASA-SHARP paper session. Apply performance rubric to presentations.
Distribute and collect second survey of Rapcitity awareness.

Monday, August 2: Complete data analysis for Results section of paper. Make final graphs, charts and tables.
Begin work on Discussion and conclusions.

Tuesday, August 3: Adapt sections of research paper for oral presentation. Complete final draft of paper. Hand in final paper to Dr. Petto in electronic format.

Wednesday, August 4: Complete draft of Power Point presentation. Revise final paper.

Thursday, August 5: Revise Power Point Presentation. Practice Presentation.

Friday, August 6: Presentation of all RAP projects and closing reception.

Past Deadlines:
Thursday,July 14 (*By the end of the day)
: complete 100-word description of the specific RAPCITITY project that you are conducted. Consult with Dr. Petto about format and wording.


Thursday Afternoon, July 14: Compile RAPCITITY surveillance data for the week, print MMWU report and update RAPCITY Website.

Tuesday, July 20: Revise Introduction to research paper.
RAPCITITY Surveillance at Lunch time.

Wednesday, July 21: Write Methods Section of paper, including procedures for analysis.
Turn in bibliography and revised Introduction.

Thursday, July 22: Turn in Methods Section of paper. Begin Working on Results.
RAPCITITY Surveillance at Lunch time. Compile data, write update report, add page to web site.

Monday, July 26: Revise Methods section of paper.


ANNOUNCEMENTS
Everyone:
  Be careful when you use your USB devices on Macintosh machines. Safe removal on these machines is a process of clicking eject on the drive properties menu (*labeled "removable drive" on the desktop).  Also, make sure that you incrementally save your information to prevent large data loss in the event of unexpected computer failures. In all cases, do not remove your device before saving your files and closing all related programs when you are done!!!

NASA Students
Reminder: Your USB drives will be collected on Thursday Evening at Practice. If you want to keep your data, let us know and we will make a cd with your data and distribute the CDs on Friday.
RAP Students

Remember, Monday you should all be working on or finishing your presentations. No website work will be allowed next week.

We expect to see sufficient progress on your web pages. Up to now, everyone should have sufficient knowledge and resources to have a complete homepage and research page. If you are unsure of what should be on your website, read through the guidelines again.

Dr. Petto's Students
Wednesday Morning, July 13:  Meet at MSC 6225 at 9 AM. Will walk to Wisconsin National Primate Research Center for a tour. Return by noon.

Wednesday Afternoon,July 13: Meet at MSC 6225 at 1:30to review and encode questionnaires.

Thursday Morning,July 14: Meet in HSLC. Begin data entry for questionnaires. Continue Literature search for research papers.

Monday Morning,July 18: Report to HSLC for analysis of data for research paper. Continue literature search and writing background and references sections of your paper.

Tuesday, July 26: Complete draft of Methods section.
Carry out Rapcitity surveillance at Carson Gully.

You should not hesitate to ask questions of us when you are unsure of any of the concepts presented. Otherwise we assume you know what you are doing and are fully aware of what is expected of you. Please be mindful that we serve as resources for information, but the work you do is a reflection of yourself, your abilities, and your work ethic.  Hard work always pays off in the end.
