Homework 0 // Due at Lecture Wed Jan 27
Submit this homework by emailing to both Prof. Mark Hill ( ) and TA Polina Dudnik (pdudnik@cs.wisc.edu) with
subject line [CS/ECE 757] Homework 0, so that email filters work properly.
The purpose of this assigment is to help the instructor
- known more about your background for tailoring the course
- recognize you in class, and
- be able to write recommendation years from now.
Problem 1
Please hand in one page with the following information:
- Digital picture (ideally 2x2 inches of face in upper right corner)
- Name (last name, first name)
- E-Mail Address
- Year in School
- Major Field
- Final Degree Goal (e.g., Ph.D.)
- Previous Education (degrees, institutions)
- Previous Computer Architecture Courses
- Previous Computer Science Courses
- (If Applicable) TA Course Titles or RA Advisor
- Relevant Work Experience
- Outside Interests
Start each item on a new line. Try to make sure your picture does not span two pages when your email is printed on 8.5x11-inch paper.
Problem 2
We have created an account for you on chianti.cs.wisc.edu using the same login as your .wisc.edu (not cs) account. This login will be needed for subsequent homeworks.
- Please login to test things by the due date of Homework 0 using an initial password that will be announced in lecture.
- When you log in, please cat the following file /scratch/757/message.txt.
- Email the TA if there are problems (e.g., an account may be missing if you added the class late).
