The Game Concept

You're a bar of soap trying to reach the safety of the drain, unfortunately the perils of the pipe down await you! Beware, the pipe is lined with many clogging obstacles that will slow you down or shave pieces from your mass, luckily the walls are populated by occasional power-ups that will help speed you on your way, add to your soapiness, and score you some big points. Make it all the way to the drain and win! Score big points to be the envy of your other soap brethern!

The Planning Process

Step 1: To begin, pairs of people had to present a game concept to the class and final projects were selected from those ideas. Ours was based off of the Soap Racing Game Proposal presented by Raja Bala and Chris Zeitler.
Step 2: Following our selection of an idea, we came up with a plan based on group brain storming and on the critiques of our classmates. The Soap Racer Game Plan detailed our minimal goals for success along with what options we'd ideally like to have implemented by the end of the project.
Step 3: Implementation. We implemented our game using C++ and the Irrlicht 3D engine, versioning was done using Subversion.

Before you play..
Since this was built in roughly 3 weeks, it is no where near "alpha stage" quality. When the game loads, use your cursor to click the strange looking textbox and enter your name. Press Enter and you'll come to the menu screen.
The Quick Start option has some bugs, which will be fixed in the next patch.
Use the Select Track option instead and click on any of the three levels. Get pwned and do the same over and over again, until you want to quit and Shift+Delete the game.
But wait, don't do that! Use the Control Panel and Remove the program from your computer to remove any of the registry entries ;)

P.S : Don't raise your expectations too much, this is after all made by students as a project over 3 weeks..
