Deviate

we are such stuff  / as dreams are made on
and our little life / is rounded with a sleep

My moto: work hard and play hard
(though I mostly end up following only the latter!)

Things I like

Sports
Tennis, Running, Swimming & Racquetball.
Occasionally soccer & cricket. Past few semesters I have gotten hooked on to sailing and skiing. I also do ice skating, which is awesome!
Ultimately I intend to do this -

Reading
Anything and everything good I lay hand on.

Travelling
I have travelled a lot in India, visiting almost every part of the country (thanks to my parents). I have also been to Germany, France, UK, Belgium, and then of course places here in US. Internships are a great way of doing a lot of travelling, and some work!

Music
Western and Indian classical (especially instrumental).

Seasons

I am a big fan of these two!

I also like them, although they are not so smart!

 Grad school scares me sometimes-
but then it mostly goes on peacefully!

My idea of spending evenings

not this

not this either

but rather this

or this ...

Why PhD?

reason changes every so often,

but is mostly one of these:
- I like it here, I dont wanna move so soon.
- Procrastinate. too lazy to get a job.
- Dr. Agrawal -- sounds cool!
- Want to do more fun courses
- School life is good,
   who wants the REAL world
- Eternal quest for knowledge (yeah right!)

Yes, at heart I am a thinker... (& a poet, philosopher et al)
I guess you'll not be too interested in what I have written.
These are good ones by Wordsworth & Frost.

Admonition to a Traveller
- William Wordsworth

Yes, there is holy pleasure in thine eye!
The lovely cottage in the guardian nook
Hath stirred thee deeply; with its own dear brook,
Its own small pasture, almost its own sky!

But covet not the abode -O do not sigh
As many do, repining while they look;
Intruders who would tear from Nature's book
This precious leaf with harsh impiety:

- Think what the home would be if it were thine,
Even thine, though few thy wants! -Roof, window, door,
The very flowers are sacred to the Poor,

The roses to the porch which they entwine:
Yea, all that now enchants thee, from the day
On which it should be touched would melt away!

The Road Not Taken
- Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
