Students who complete the first course have been in great demand by companies working on
network protocols. The course project has been particularly important in this
regard. The goal of the advanced course is to prepare students to work on research
projects and indeed it and its predecessors (informal advanced seminars) have
served to identify students who have joined our various networking projects.
