Call For Beards
This is an official call for Beard Off 2006 Contestants. All men and woman (who may submit a proxy contestant) who are members of the Computer Science department (either students or staff) are welcome and encouraged to participate. All others who wish to participate must submit an email to the judging committee for review.Important Dates
The beard off will commence from December 15, 2006 to February 1 & 2, 2007.
December 15: All participants will be required to arrive freshly shaved (we will be checking) and check in (time and place will be announced later). Those who cannot attend on the 15th will be allowed to schedule a makeup day.
February 1: Objective Judging Day, all contestants who wish to compete in the Objective competition must participate in the event held on the 1st (time and place TBA).
February 2: Flair Judging Day, this day is to determine the best sculpted and styled beard. Contestants may participate in both days of judging, and may trim or style their beard after the 1st day to compete in the second.

- A very nice beard
- The knowledge of completing something that only required you not do something (i.e., shave)
Additional Rules
- Contestants are welcome to shave or trim their beards at any point during the contest, recognizing of course that this may diminish their chances of winning
- Hair tonics and and other growth enhancers (including equipment) may be used during the competition, but is banned on the Objective Judging day (no gels or other product is allowed in or on the beard on Feb 1st).
- Judges may make addendum to rules at any time
- No contestant may be also be a judge
- Late entry is allowed but discouraged, and requires the contestant to be verified clean shaved after Dec 15
- This is not a request for comments (that went out last week), these rules and dates are final
