About Me

I am a fifth year graduate student in the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I work in the Wisconsin Wireless and NetworkinG Systems (WiNGS) Labs with Prof. Suman Banerjee . My research work is supported by a Google PhD Fellowship in Mobile Computing (2011-2013).

Earlier, I was a research associate with Prof. Bhaskaran Raman at I.I.T. Kanpur . I completed my M. Tech (CSE) in 2006 from the same institute.

Research Interests

My dissertation work involves prototyping cross layer (PHY, MAC) techniques to improve performance of media (video, audio) and data delivery over wireless networks.
I have also built prototype multi-interface systems for single hop wireless networks, with a goal to enhance reliability (Whitespace femtocells) and capacity (media delivery).

A significant portion of my graduate research work can be broadly classified into following themes:

  • Wireless media & data delivery: Apex, Medusa, MOM (cross layer technique to improve wireless data delivery).
  • Multi-Interface networking: MultIfacet (single interface abstraction for enhancing bandwidth), WhiteCell (Whitespace femtcells).
  • Measurement of wide area wireless networks: Wiscape, Mad-Mesh, Fractel, Digital Gangetic Plains
