I'm a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, having majored in Computer Science and Philosophy. I hail from Malaysia, a tropical peninsula in South East Asia.
I'm currently interning as a Software Engineeer at Oracle Communications, doing HTML5 web app development. I'm a front-end web developer with a passion for design. Sometimes, I bake delicious cupcakes and watercolor paint (just not at the same time!).Next: Projects
Problem: It's easy to design newsletter templates. The hard part is teaching users how to edit it. Even with a GUI editor, newsletter templates get messed up when users add newsletter 'stories'.
Solution: A simple form-based newsletter builder. The template is set with fixed layouts for each 'story' in the newsletter. Users can set editable fields such as the title and date of issue as well as add as many 'stories' as they need to.
Problem: I needed a way to hide personal or sensitive information when working on websites in public.
Solution: A script that only scrambles up html content so you can work on layout and style without worrying about someone peeking over your shoulder.
Problem: There are many academic tutoring resources at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Unfortunately, they are very decentralized and it is hard for students to search for tutors.
Solution: A centralized database of tutors where students can search for tutors based on courses and locations.
Back-end: Ruby on Rails.
This project was worked on in a group of 5. My contribution was mostly on front-end views and controller logic.
