I guess my life as a writer started when I was five; I'd sit under the kitchen table with my box of multi-colored wax crayons (I miss those) and create picture books.
Creative writing was always my favorite subject and I used any free time I had to sit down with a notepad. Not much has changed, except that now I have developed vampirish habits: my writing "day" typically starts at 1am.

I'm an avid reader, a big fan of cookie ice cream and I'm often travelling. When working I have to disconnect the internet for fear of being endlessly distracted by websites such as icanhas.cheezburger.com.

**Please note this review will have spoilers for A Shade of Vampire**

I absolutely loved A Shade of Vampire and had to get the remaining books in the series, but haven’t had a chance to read book two until now. This is a fantastic series, so very different from any other vampire one and I love the characters to pieces. Ms Forrest has a wonderful writing style and I was hooked from the get go.

Following on from A Shade of Vampire, Sofia Claremont and Ben Hudson are back to reality and have to face the wrath of Ben’s parents. Everything feels surreal to Sofia and Ben, being back in the sunlight but having dark nightmares. Can they overcome their experience in the Shade?

They try to be normal and start back at school and do everything they did before the Shade. It’s not that easy for Sofia though and for some reason, Ben is behaving differently towards Sofia.

Back on the island, the Shade is undergoing some drastic changes, Derek has found his dark side and is missing Sofia terribly. Derek has decided that the island has become lazy and if they were to go to war, they would lose. He starts finally taking an interest in the inhabitants on the island and have his army prepare for war.

Ben is having difficulty coming to terms with his physical and emotional scars. He is trying to convince Sofia that the vampires are evil creatures and must be destroyed. Sofia doesn’t understand Ben’s theory and knows Derek has some good in him. Which side will they each choose?

Will Sofia be able to move on from Derek? Will she be able to live a normal life? Is Ben able to overcome his pain?

Sofia receives a little help from a friend to make her decision and Ben makes a tough decision of his own.

Honestly, I rarely write reviews unless the book I read was either blown out of the water it was so good or it was just so awful I couldn't finish it. This book did more than blow it out of the water. I find it redundant to review every book in the series but I find myself reviewing everyone from A Shade Of Vampire.

There were two major plot twists that left me wide eyed and re-reading several times to let it sink in. WOW. Just WOW. This book was fantastic. I think it even out did the first book, I couldn't wait to read the third book and now that I finished the third book, I am absolutely itching to read the last.... even though this is a series I DON'T want to end!

This book surpasses Twilight fifteen hundred times over. How this series has not gone main stream is honestly beyond me!

(Chances are, if this author has another series, I'd read it because I absolutely LOVE her style!)

Another amazing book by Bella Forrest, A Shade of Vampire is by far one of my favorite paranormal books and after reading A Shade of Blood I reconfirm that she's a great writer and one of my favorite authors.

This book is dark, captivating and intense, it was impossible for me to put it down, even when that implied for me to stay awake almost all night.
The story is still as good as in the first book, and thanks to the fact that places and scenes are well described and detailed it is fairly easy to be transported to the world that the author created, that mysterious and intriguing place called "The Shade" where there are all these vampires governed by Derek Novak.
The characters are well developed and for me it was really easy relate to them, you can feel their pain, frustration, love, their struggle, and I think this is why I'm so captive by Bella Forrest's books.
One thing I really enjoyed was the multiple POV that we see in this book, to be able to switch between Sofia, Derek, Ben and Lucas, really helped me understand better these characters, their feelings and what was behind their actions.
In this second book we learn more about Derek's past, "The Shade" and also get to know better to Ben, Sofia's best friend who after this book it became more interesting for me than in the first book.
This book in a manner explores the subject of how people deal with their pain and how after a life changing event it seems fairly impossible forget and leave everything behind, also it shows that even when there's love, relationships are not always easy and sometimes you have to fight for what you want.

The end of this book left me with a great desire to read the next in this series and I definitely recommend it to Romance, Fantasy and Paranormal fans, but to understand and really enjoy this book you should read first "A Shade of Vampire" also by Bella Forrest.

Bella outdid herself AGAIN! After reading the first book three . . . okay five . . . times, I couldn't imagine where she would go with the storyline (although I had high hopes for a possible beheading or two) - it was WONDERFUL! Talk about some surprises! Bella has the perfect kind of imagination for paranormal writing. She draws you in and then keeps your attention by taking totally unexpected twists and turns in the story that all work together for dynamic reading! Just like with the first book, I read this one without stopping! I was thoroughly engrossed in the story - to the point of talking and yelling at the book (yes, my children thought I was nuts). AND, Bella managed to leave me yearning for the next book so I will be eagerly awaiting the next installment of this wonderful story (hopefully number 3 out of at least 6 books - okay, 8 . . . no 10 . . . alright, as many as we can squeeze out of her). Thanks for the great entertainment, Bella! Kudos on yet another great success!!
