The Food Network star is back with an all-new, all-American book in his #1 New York Times bestselling series
In its seventeenth season, Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives continues its reign as America's best source for finding the funky, scratch-made, and delicious. Now the host and #1 New York Times bestselling author returns with more of his favorite joints across the country—and a few in Canada! In this third entry in his Diners, Drive-ins and Dives series, Guy keeps his motto front and center—"If it's funky, I'll find it." This time around he's bringing on the big personalities, the rockin' real-deal recipes, and the homegrown restaurants that capture the freewheeling American spirit at its finest.
Also along for the ride are members of Guy's rambunctious Krew, sharing their most memorable shoots, meals, behind-the-scenes stories, and killer pranks from the road. And check out this new feature—a tricked-out, full-color foldout map that shows the location of every diner in the book!
In 2006, Guy Fieri premiered his first show, Guy's Big Bite, on Food Network after winning season two of The Next Food Network Star. Today, this "culinary rock star" hosts two additional top-rated shows on the network: Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Tail¬gate Warriors. And on March 14, 2010, Guy made his debut as a game show host on the NBC prime¬time series Minute to Win It.
In 2011, Guy officially launched CWK (Cook¬ing with Kids; www.cwkfoundation.org), a program that encourages developing healthy eating habits to address the childhood obesity crisis, strengthen the family unit by sharing quality time in the kitchen, and as a result increase our children's self-esteem in a fun and positive way.
Guy's first two books were the New York Times bestselling Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives: An All-American Road Trip . . . with Recipes! and More Din¬ers, Drive-ins and Dives: Another Drop-Top Culinary Cruise Through America's Finest and Funkiest Joints.
Guy owns five restaurants in Northern Califor¬nia, including three Johnny Garlic's and two Tex Wasabi's, and resides in Northern California with his wife, Lori, and two boys, Hunter and Ryder.
I was looking for something more comprehensive. My expectations were perhaps too high, but I thought I was getting a book hopefully organized by state and then by town. We are planning a road trip and it was bought for this purpose but is really not the help I thought it would be.

I was very disappointed in the book. My wife and I were planning a road trip to Florida from Jersey and were hoping to stop in at a few places along the way. Not even one restaurant was featured in the whole distance between New Jersey and Florida, big bummer. Ray Wagner

I was hoping for some of the more recipes he was more detailed about in the episodes and he wasn't it was the smaller recipes and episodes. I still love Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives just not this particular book

After eagerly awaiting the release of Guy's new book, I finally received it today..and was not impressed.Though the book looks interesting and a great read, I was very disappointed in the selection of recipes. It seems like it heavily relies on pork and offers many ways to prepare it. Being one that likes pork about as much as the next guy, I was very disapointed with the book's lack of diversity. I love the show and watch it faithfully, but dont understand why this book features so many pork recipes. If you LOVE pork, this is the book for you. If you like a more diverse menu...I would suggest you select a different book. If this review seems a bit redundant...you get a feeling about how the recipes in the book flow.

I expected more restaurant reviews and not so much about the cast and the making of the show. Very limited selections of restaurants and a huge amount of photos of Guy.
My sister and I went on a road trip through the South East and found this book to be useless. Save your money.

Celebrity chefs? While the term sort of rankles me, I have definitely been seduced by the charm of funky Alton Brown, glam Giada, homey Paula Dean, and even drill Sargent Robert Irvine. However, it is Guy Fieri who I have a special soft spot for. Guy is part chef and part comedian. Triple D has a following. People flock to these places featured on the show in droves. I should know since I am one of the 'Triple ad' groupies. I have gotten sick and bloated from burgers in San Diego and also dined on chicken and dumplings there. Baltimore, for some reason, must be a popular foodie place. I have hit five eateries there with uniform thumbs up on all. Providence and the pea greens and turkey sammy was one big hit. A side trip to Sacramento to visit relatives has convinced me that there is some merit to a place that can turn out roulades and beet sliders. Even my primary home base has uncovered dynamite pizza and funky diners. This book is the print version of my favorite show. If Guy didn't write the text, whoever did has picked up on the Guy vibe. Filled with anecdotes, recipes, and lots of pictures this is one fun book. I've made a couple of the featured items with good results, but I really bought this for the behind the scenes vibe of the show and Guy's over the top personality. This book is funny and fun. It also revisits some of my favorite segments.

We're big fans of Guy's show and visit featured restaurants when they fall within our travels. This is my first Guy Fieri cookbook and I really like it. Enjoy reading about the various establishments and the impact being showcased on the show has had on their businesses. I'm always looking for some unique and new recipes to try and this hits the spot. Had read previous reviews that seemed to indicate mostly pork dishes but haven't had the same impression. I find the assortment of recipes great and can't wait to get cooking.
