This is the "Athens" part of the other book, Rick Steves' Greece: Athens & the Peloponnese by Rick Steves (Apr 19, 2011) - Kindle eBook. If your buying the hard copy and don't want to carry 500+ pages, then the Athens pocket guide is best. If your buying the kindle version, spend the extra $1 and get the Rick Steves' Greece: Athens & the Peloponnese by Rick Steves (Apr 19, 2011) - Kindle eBook. I wish I knew, I feel a little ripped off :(
Otherwise it was a very good book and probably the best on the market ( I liked this way better than Lonely Planets new Athens pocket guide)

Just returned from trip which included Athens. Steves' book was invaluable as was the information from his "app!" Download and bring iPhone and earbuds and you are set for his walking tours! We chose our hotel from his recommended list, Hermes, and were not disappointed. He recommended a trip to Cape Sounion which also was terrific!

This pocket guide to Athens is excellent. It gives infrastructure data and wonderful walking tours through the city and the ancient sites. The advice Rick gives allows efficient touring of Athens and is very accurate. He also has handy audio tours available for download for smartphones and i-devices. Highly recommended.

Great little guide with maps and pictures so you can navigate key sites. It's super portable so it is easy to carry around with you at all time. I used this at the Acropolis, the Agora, Ermu Street, the City Walk and the National Archaeological Museum.

I lived in Athens for four years in the late 1980s and I have been back every two to four years; I'm not sure how many times. I have seen Athens as a tourist, a resident, and as a guide for friends and business visitors. This is one of the best guidebooks I have seen to the city, and THE best for its size and cost. Lots of books tell you the facts about Athens; this one captures the feel of Athens better than any I have read. I don't mean the hyped up, sensationalized version - I mean the real city that the traveler is likely to see. There were even a few places or streets in the book that I used to go or take friends that I have never seen in any guidebook until now.

The Athens City Walk, the Acropolis Tour, and the Ancient Agora Tour are especially good. The Acropolis Museum Tour seemed a bit short for such a premier facility. I can't rate the the Archaeology Museum Tour since it's been some time since I was there. The maps are very useful and easy to read. On page 7 is a map of Athens' central neighborhoods. The first timer reader won't notice it, but the experienced explorer of central Athens will. The various names are useful to give directions, to direct taxis, etc.

I got this book specifically because the new weight restrictions on most coach seats prevent me from taking the small library that used to accompany me. My all-time favorite guidebook of many years will have to remain in the US; this book and one other will make the trip. I'm very glad to have it.

Quite adequate: detailed, good pictures, high-quality paper, with information on Athens as well as Greece.

I consider it a very good value for the price.

This book fits in a hip pocket or side pocket. It's too big for a shirt pocket.

It has five tours from the bigger Athens book by Rick Steves. It has a good selection of hotels and restaurants too.

I especially like the fold-out map of Athens and the Metro.

I recommend this book if you don't like carrying the bigger one.

This pocket atlas is very detailed and has a lot of history. It is a little confusing and does not really prepare you for your tour of Athens.
