About Me, Steven Noto

[Picture of Steven]

Greetings, and thanks for visiting my website. On this page you can find out a little more about me.

The Name

I am Steven Noto. My full name is Steven Miles Francis Noto. In case you're curious, "Steven" is from the Greek "stephanos," meaning "crown," and is also the name of the first Christian martyr (see Acts 6-7 for his story). "Miles" is my mother's maiden name, from her father Daro Miles, a strong and loving man I always looked up to. "Francis" is my Confirmation name, from St. Francis of Assissi, friend of God, man, and animal. And "Noto" is the name my family has gone by since my great-grandfather Emilio Noto came to America from San Fili, Italy.

The Man

I'm currently twenty-something, and working after grad school. In 2002 I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Computer Science, after graduating from Bradley University in Electrical Engineering. I am a devout Catholic, and my interests include reading, video and card games, and science fiction. I'm an introvert, of the INFJ temperment ("Counselor"), and I really like to spend time with my close friends.

The Other Half

Since she's such a significant part of me, I should also mention the love of my life, my wife Teri. I have learned many intellectual things at school and many spiritual things through my Faith, but I have learned more about Love through her than any other. We met in high school, and while I was oblivious, she was working up the courage to ask me out. I almost said no! We both thank God for sending us to each other. It's been wonderful ever since.

The Faith

Hard to know where to start, since I've always had my faith. I grew up a student in Catholic schools and a member in youth groups. I believe in God, I love Him, and I seek to follow Him and do His will. I don't agree with the Church about everything, but I'm glad to be a part of a community of believers. It is my hope that you'll know I'm a Christian by my words and actions.

The End

That's all I have to say about myself right now. I may add more as new chapters of my life get written. Thanks for reading!
