I’ll be in Seattle, WA this summer as a Software Development Engineer Intern with Amazon.com! I’m so excited to expand my horizons developing software with one of the top companies to work for in the country. This will be my first time on the west coast, and the weather in Seattle in the summer is supposed to be beautiful!
I am currently an active member of five performing groups. I play with the UW-Jazz Ensemble and the Wisconsin Singers (webmaster) on campus, and with the 1st Brigade Band, Madison Brass Band, and the Blessed Brass off campus. I've been playing trumpet for 11 years now and don’t plan to stop anytime soon.
I hope to go into a field known as bioinformatics, a fairly new field in the computer sciences. For a nice overview of what "bioinformatics" really means, I highly suggest the wikipedia site. You can also think of it as a merge of mathematics, statistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, chemistry, and biochemistry to solve biological problems, usually on the molecular level.
