Mount Baker Hiking Trip

10 July 1999

Excelsior Pass Trail, 8.5 miles, 3900' elevation change.

Hiking up a trail that also serves as a stream.

"Where did the trail go?"

"This is harder than it looks"

Making slow progress up the vast snow field.

Impatiently waiting for Zheng to take the group photo.

The group picture (too bad Mt. Baker did not show up).

Now the fun part: going down!

"Go faster!"

That's one way to break your fall.

Alas, we descend below the snow line and are once again lost in the brush.

Finally, we find the trail/stream leading us back down.
