<h2> Assignment </h2>

Operating systems vendors continuously add new features to their
operating systems as well as improving performance and fixing
bugs. For this assignment, you should should survey two modern
operating systems, such as Microsoft's Windows Vista, Apple's OS X
Leopard, Linux of some variety (e.g. Red Hat, Debian, Ubuntu, Lineo),
or Sun Microsystem's Solaris, and learn what features have been
recently added to the system.

You should a 4-5 page paper (<b>12 point font</b>, 1 inch margins, single
spaced) describing what areas of operating systems are receiving new
features, and how the two operating systems differ either in the areas
that are being extended or in how the new features work. For example,
you may find that multimedia support is being enhanced, but that the
Windows and OS X approaches to multimedia are different. In addition,
you should, if possible, explain the differences between the operating
systems. For example, Microsoft may be more interested in world
domination, while Apple is interested in looking good. Hopefully you
can find better reasons.
