First view of Cloud's Rest,

Approach to Tenaya Lake,

The intrepid hikers (minus yours' truly) at the trail head.

Crossing the outlet of Tenaya lake.

The deep water.

Snow melt everywhere.

Did I mention that we were hiking during the spring snow melt?

Looking back to the northwest at a few of the peaks north of the Tioga Road.

About 2.5 miles in and 9000 feet elevation.

What's for dinner?

Yum.

Junction with John Muir Trail.

These are pictures from an overnight backpacking trip to Cloud's Rest in Yosemite National Park.

There are several excellent Cloud's Rest trip reports on the web, but I didn't see any that included children in the group. Our team consisted of my wife and I and our two oldest children, ages 12 and 10. Enjoy the gallery of our adventure.
