Hello friends

Couple of light hearted observations during my recent VN trip.

1. Place: A major Hanoi Street. A street food stall had
the idea of putting out a loud video in full view of passers-by
to attract customers. The video being played? A Thuy' Nga Paris 
tape, with Ng~ Cao Ky` Cu.c as hostess. (Indeed it's pretty hard
to find locally made tapes in the shops. I'm not exactly a
Thuy' Nga Paris fan.) But try to bring that through customs!

2. Finally located a shop on Ha`ng Ba`i Street that sells
locally made music. My favourite was a "Da^n ca" disk, just
the thing I have been desperately looking for - unfortunately
it's available only in video disk format, which I haven't
got the equipment to play. Feel I'm getting old fashioned.

3. Remember the joke on Singapore Airlines vs VN Airlines 
posted some time ago? ("On VN Airlines we don't have to teach 
people how to smile"). Looks like VN Airlines suffers from
the Singapore disease too. Encl. a letter I wrote to them.
