v 15,000 Vidal dictionaries for Vietnamese physicians

The Vietnam branch of the Paris-based OVP-Editions du Vidal Company has
offered Vietnamese physicians 15,000 sets of Vidal 1997 dictionaries
printed in Vietnam. This is a reference dictionary published by OVP
Publishing House, including information on 400 groups of pharmaceuticals
in circulation on the Vietnamese market. Apart from the dictionaries,
there are Vidal manuals with information on medicine interaction, notes
on the use of medicine for special cases and treatment instructions.
These help physicians deal with diseases in a rapid fashion.


v A baby with two heads in Quang Tri

An eyeless, two-headed baby was born on April 22 at An Mo Village, Trieu
Long Commune, Trieu Phong District, Quang Tri Province. The parents of
the baby, named Do Duc Duyen, are Mr. Do Duc (30 years old) and Mrs. Ho
Thi Huong (32). 

The couple already have two normal healthy girls. Duyen insists on
sucking milk all night long. The family is coping with other
difficulties as well; they are living in a makeshift house in the
village after their old solid house was washed away by floods.  


v BEC examination to be held later this month

A Business English Certificate (BEC) examination will be held on May 31
by the International English School (IES), District 5, HCMC. Between May
24-25, professors of Cambridge in HCMC organized a free revision course
for all candidates at IES, with a view to helping them master the
content and formula of the exam. IES is an official examination center
of Cambridge University (U.K.), organizing BEC examinations for
candidates in the South. The examination is organized in May and October
every year.
