EPFL Graduate School in Communication Systems (Doctoral School)

Purpose
This graduate school prepares to the graduate certificate in communication
systems and to the preliminary exam for the EPFL doctorate in communication
systems (duration 3 years). The originality of this program is its
inter-disciplinary nature, overlapping electrical engineering and computer
science, together with a solid mathematical grounding. This
interdisciplinary approach is necessary to anyone active in the booming and
exciting field of communication and information systems.


Program
The one-year program consists of three formal courses covering the core of
communications systems, at least two elective courses covering advanced
topics and a project as introduction to independent research. Courses are in
English.

Fellowships
Financial support for the duration of the courses is available for the best
candidates on a competitive basis.

Calendar
Deadline for applications: 30 April 2000 at the latest. Some admittance
decisions may be taken earlier, so please apply asap in case of interest.
Courses: October 2000 - June 2001
