Storyline

Wayne is still living at home. He has a world class collection of name tags from jobs he's tried, but he does have his own public access TV show. A local station decides to hire him and his sidekick, Garth, to do their show professionally and Wayne & Garth find that it is no longer the same. Wayne falls for a bass guitarist and uses his and Garth's Video contacts to help her career along, knowing that Ben Oliver, the sleazy advertising guy who is ruining their show will probably take her away from him if they fail. Trivia

Dana Carvey stated in interviews to promote this film during its theatrical run that he developed severe pain in his jaw due to Garth's overbite, and that he spent his nights after filming had wrapped for the day with bags of ice held to the sides of his face. See more »

Goofs

At the start of the "gratuitous sex scene", Wayne is alternating opening and closing his eyes, saying "Camera 1" and "Camera 2". When he starts, "Camera 1" is closer to Cassandra's left than "Camera 2", meaning that Camera 1 is Wayne's right eye, and Camera 2 is his left eye. At the end of that part of the scene, however, he says "Camera 2" last, but his right eye is open, which should be Camera 1 if he had been consistent. See more »

Crazy Credits

We hope you found it entertaining, whimsical and yet relevant, with an underlined revisionist conceit that belie the film's emotional attachments to the subject matter." Garth: "I just hope you didn't think it sucked!" Wayne: "Okay, so thank you for coming. Good night and party on!" Garth: "Party on, Wayne!" Wayne: "Party on, Garth!" [Fade to black] See more »

Hilarious.
24 July 2002 | by (Devon,England) – See all my reviews

I saw Waynes world ten years ago and I still find it funny even now.It is about two airheads who run their own TV show and don't get anything for it..They are soon visited by a businessman who exploits them for the show.

Waynes world even after ten years I still find it funny. It spoofs so many things and it just makes me laugh. It also has a good storyline to play along with.I reccomend watching Waynes world and the sequel in one night to see what you think. You will enjoy it.I rate 4/5.
