Storyline

For aspiring comedian Donna Stern, everyday life as a female twenty-something provides ample material for her relatable brand of humor. On stage, Donna is unapologetically herself, joking about topics as intimate as her sex life and as crude as her day-old underwear. But when Donna winds up unexpectedly pregnant after a one-night stand, she is forced to face the uncomfortable realities of independent womanhood for the first time. Donna's drunken hookup - and epic lapse in prophylactic judgment - turns out to be the beginning of an unplanned journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Written by A24 Films

Loved it!

I do not tend to like typical Hollywood films (i.e., hated 'Titanic'), and in this movie, the actor as a stand up comedian - her lines really aren't that great. But this is a wonderful movie about being in your 20s, and dating/birth control/abortion etc. It drives me crazy that movies like this don't get more recognition, as compared to silly, meaningless Hollywood drama- where the guy is a prince and the girl falls head over heals and there is always a happy ending. (cute but silly....) This movie was realistic, we can relate to the characters, and brings up important social issues - quietly and with restraint (typical Hollywood movies could SO use a lesson on restraint!!!) One of the best 20 something films I have ever watched!
